The month of September is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows because the memorial falls right in the missile of September. The celebration of Christ’s victory over death is marked by the feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14th, so it only makes sense that the following day, September 15th, we remember the suffering of Mary as she stood below her son at the foot of the cross.
